May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, it’s a time to intentionally raise awareness of and reduce the stigma around mental health issues, in addition to acknowledging challenges that surround us all in an ever-changing society. Look to this year’s Mental Health America campaign “Where to Start: Mental Health in a Changing World” for tools to help you know where to start when it comes to taking care of your own well-being or assist another. Or register for some of the Wellness Workshops offered by the Office of Engagement and Extension.

Announcements

The HDS Communication and Morale (CAM) committee is highlighting staff members and areas of HDS, helping us all better understand what it is that we all do, who we are, as well as share some of the interesting things that we are doing.

A special thank you and acknowledgment goes to our amazing dining employees. When you have the best combination of talent, skills, and attitude, you get the great performance of this team.  Despite being short-staffed this year, dining employees provided outstanding service to the largest incoming class of students in the university’s history. Through multiple shut downs due to the pandemic and challenging weather, these essential and committed workers still show up and perform at the highest level. Thank you, dining employees, for your dedication and superior service!

Move In Volunteers Needed

As we are preparing to welcome students for the 2022/2023 academic, we need your help to welcome them and get them settled in before they start classes! Please check with your supervisor and sign up for the shifts you are able to assist during move-in week!

Move-in is Monday, August 15th through Friday, August 19th (we’re anticipating the busiest days to be Monday–Wednesday, which are designated Move In days) with additional needs, supporting Dining through the rest of August serving meals at lunch and dinner. Each of these volunteer shifts provides you and your team with opportunities to interact with and support our first-year and returning students! You can sign up for as many shifts as you like.

There are many different volunteer opportunities available including, RamCard customer service, traffic, and directions, dining meal service, cardboard corrals, etc.  HDS Move-In Assistance Sign-up

Fraternity and Sorority Life are for coordinating volunteers to move students into their rooms again this year. They have great experience over the years and continue to support move-in with this process.

Please contact Christie.Mathews@colostate.edu with any questions or particular needs.
